Lewes Chess Club has been established in the community for many years . The club is open all year round and plays matches against other clubs from mid-September to the end of April. We are a welcoming club open to all ages and a range of playing strengths.
In addition to opportunities for friendly chess, the club offers a full schedule of competitive play.
There are two internal competitions. Club championship and Quickplay.
LCC enters multiple teams for the Sussex Chess League and has reached the final of the Knock-out, Paul Watson Trophy and McArthur Cup, winning the Knock-out.
Venue is the St Mary's Supporters Club , Christie road, Lewes BN7 1PL
Chess is held in a upstairs private room or can be played in the bar.
Club meets every Tuesday from 7:30pm-11pm

Membership of Lewes Chess Club includes membership of St Mary's supporters club which is a fabulous venue. Licensed Members club with Lewes's longest bar and some of the lowest bar prices in Lewes. St Mary's offers Darts, Pool, Snooker, Skittles, Toads, Bar Billiards, Garden and free parking.
